Most people fail to realize that what you put in your body has the BIGGEST impact on how your body looks, feels, and what it does for you. Therefore, food is one of the (if not the) most crucial factors in achieving your in-home weight loss goals! So the question becomes “What foods do I need to eat to succeed in achieving my goals and be as healthy as possible”?
Eating is somewhat a science, heck our bodies are one of the most intricate things to exist! Proper eating means combining the right macro and micronutrients to attain optimal function for digestion, absorption and assimilation. The key to a balanced nutritious diet is to make sure you are consuming the proper combination of proteins, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.
The food choices you make in each food group is where you will succeed or fail with your in-home weight loss goals. For example, choosing complex carbohydrate sources of food (e.g., whole grains or root vegetables) verses simple starches (e.g., white rice or bread). Your body will respond quite differently to these different types of foods, and in the end this can mean the difference between loosing or gaining weight.
A variety of fruits and vegetables are also an important part of any diet and weight loss program, as they supply essential vitamins and minerals, give the body plenty of water, and are low in fat and calories. Leafy greens in particular supply plenty of fiber and a plethora of other amazing nutrients and vitamins for your body, while orange vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes supply vitamin A, for example.
Meats, beans, poultry, fish, and eggs (for example) provide protein, which help keep hunger at bay and provide long-term fuel supply. They are also the building blocks of lean muscle, which helps to fight fat in the body.
Furthermore, beans and lentils provide fiber which help keep you full and also regulates the digestive system.
Finally, every balanced diet requires healthy fats. Good fats help to keep hunger and cravings in check, and also keep our brain working optimally and contribute to healthy looking skin and hair. Some good sources of healthy fats are oils, nuts, avocados, seafood, etc.
With all of that said, timing and combining of all of the above healthy foods is very important in achieving the success you desire. To learn more about what balanced healthy eating means and how you can maximize your in-home weight loss goals, please CONTACT US TODAY!
